[ It's days after they were reunited, in a less than unconventional way. The idea is mortifying enough that Percival finds himself struggling to seek out Cain much more than he'd ever struggle to track down an enemy. It's possible such interactions were far easier, too.

But he's here now, resolved to at least clear the air, and knocks on the other's dwelling. Maybe he should have checked via the network to see if he's home first... ]

[ He kind of has an idea who it is as soon as he hears the knock. Percival hasn't sought him out before this, but it's only been a matter of time after their encounter in the lagoon. And there aren't that many people Cain knows who'd bother knocking in the first place. It's a calculated risk he takes when he doesn't bother to check who's at the door before calling out, carefree. ]
