[ that noise is admittedly pretty funny, and vane seems to give a small touch of a laugh as he takes off. unsurprisingly, cain is pretty light. maybe even lighter than lancelot? this seems to be a debate in vane's mind for some stretch of their journey. until finally, they make it outside of the venue.

Well, Vane does have clear-cut priorities. He can't fault that. Vane got them out of there, after all, even if he's still carrying Cain around like luggage. At least it's not a princess carry...
As if to reward the lack of a princess carry, Cain pats the back of Vane's head. ]

the pat on the head gets a hearty laugh out of vane as he continues on their trek. somehow, it felt like being subtly rewarded. it makes him grasp onto him a bit tighter, especially as he shifts cain a bit over his shoulder. ] S-stake out! Yeah, that's totally it. [ he was just hungry, but well...
if cain was giving him an out or justification, he'd take it. ] There's not much you can do on a empty stomach, right? Besides, I have a feeling if we didn't eat, my stomach would be loud enough for us to be found anyway. [ he laughs like this is a joke, but is it really? ]
Then we'd better be sure to grab some food soon. Wouldn't want your stomach to give us away.
[ Also said like a joke, but it's really not — all too easily, Cain can imagine it: the two of them tucked in the shadows, spying. The men, talking, about to get to the most important reveal. And then— GROWL.
No, far better to stop on the way, take a minute out of their escape, and make sure Vane's stomach is full.
With that in mind, Cain cranes his head around, then tugs at Vane's hair, directing him. ]
